Kuwait City: Despite the high demand for labor, Kuwait has asked employees working in SMEs to transfer their work permits to another SME after one year instead of three years. Allowed.

The announcement was made by Trade and Industry Minister Dr. Abdullah Al Salman.

To change a work permit, employer approval is required. Before the decision, SME work permit holders could only apply for a job three years after issuing the work permit.

People whose work permits are registered under an SME are prohibited from transferring them to the public sector and non-SME private sector companies.

The decision is not a valid work permit due to high labor demand and the ongoing ban on issuing new visas or work permits to anyone.

In August, Ahmed Al Moussa, director of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), announced that a directive had been issued to allow the transfer of labor between SMEs without the need to attach a salary transfer certificate by the end of the current year. . Unless the company file is suspended.
